BRASILIA, 28 MAR – Together with his French counterpart, Emmanuel Macron, President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva declared that he still has confidence in the signing of the agreement between Mercosur and the European Union.
The Brazilian leader said there had been some “promising” progress in talks between the two blocs.
He added that Brazil has no problems with France over the agreement and that the Macron government must negotiate the terms of the agreement with European authorities.
Macron reiterated that he was against signing the deal and defended another pact, which covers issues such as climate change. .
