During the preview of the Renault Kardian in Gramado, RS, the executives of the French brand left this possibility in the air
The new car in the C-SUV (medium) category that Renault will launch in 2025 will be the French brand’s first national hybrid. Although this is not official information, it is what we understood from the conversations we had with some Renault executives in Gramado, RS, on the occasion of the Renault Kardian preview.
Renault’s medium SUV will be an anti-Compass, the Jeep model that has never lost its category leadership, except for just one month (against the Toyota Corolla Cross). In her column Primeira Classe, journalist Rafaela Borges obtained the same information from other sources.
Renault’s first national hybrid will be flex and will use a system similar to that of the Toyota Corolla Cross, i.e. it will be Full Hybrid. This system is more advanced than the Mild Hybrid, as it provides electric traction for a longer period of time when the car is used.
Another advantage of this system, in addition to the reduction of carbon emissions and fuel consumption, is that the car itself decides when the electric motor should work alone or in combination with the combustion engine. It also does not need to be recharged from the socket, like the plug-in hybrid.
Renault’s new anti-Compass SUV, which according to the Autos Segredos website could be based on the Renault Rafale, will be launched in 2025 and will be produced on the same platform as the Kardian, but with a longer wheelbase and greater length, plus a new 1.3 turbo flex engine.
The Renault Kardian will be officially launched on March 19 and will have the following prices: R$ 112,790 for the entry-level version (Evolution), R$ 122,990 for the intermediate version (Techno) and R$ 132,790 for the top of the range version. the-line version (Première Edition).
