Dengue cases in the Americas rose sharply in the first three months of this year, reaching three times the number recorded in the same period last year, the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) reported on Thursday.
Brazil, Argentina and Paraguay are the countries hardest hit by dengue, in what PAHO officials described in a news conference as likely the worst season yet seen in the Americas for the mosquito-borne disease.
