Arrested last Friday (22nd), Robinho is in the Tremembé penitentiary, where he is serving his sentence; first image leaked onto the Internet
The first images of Robinho prisoner in the Tremembé penitentiary in Sao Paulo were released on Wednesday (27). The former player’s photo began circulating on the Internet shortly after his arrest last weekend. He is serving a nine-year prison sentence for the rape of an Albanian woman in Italy in 2013.
Sentenced to a closed regime, Robinho ended up convicted by the Italian court, which however asked the Brazilian court to allow him to serve his sentence on national soil. Although the defense is still trying to provisionally release him, he will remain in prison over Easter. His lawyer, José Eduardo Alckmin, is confident that he can be released soon.
“He will remain in prison, unfortunately, until the Supreme Court gives an order to the contrary. But I am confident that the Supreme Court will change the situation”, the lawyer told ‘g1’.
After the Federal Supreme Court denied habeas corpus to the former Santos striker, his arrest took place last Friday. He was arrested in Santos and subsequently taken to Tremembé.
