KP Sport highlights the most important moments in a new interview with a young figure skater
Russian junior figure skating last season was a battle between Alisa Dvoeglazova and Margarita Bazylyuk. Alisa arrived early at junior tournaments and is practically a “veteran” there. But Bazylyuk jumped into this element and just feels good about it.
Dvoeglazova is next to enter the senior category, but for now it seems she is still planning to compete in junior tournaments. In a great interview TASS Group figure skater Eteri Tutberidze spoke about quadruples, Bazelyuk’s competition and answered a question about quadruple axel.
Dvoeglazova says she joined Eteri Tutberidze’s group in 2020. She even remembers that the fateful screening took place on November 1 last year. Then there was the first training session led by Sergei Dudakova. But Eteri Georgievna personally came to the second, which became a little exciting for Dvoeglazova.
Alisa treats her head coach with respect:
“At first it was scary, I just didn’t communicate with her before, I didn’t exchange a word, I knew she was strict. It gets results, she does everything right.
Alisa Dvoeglazova does not need special motivation from Eteri Tutberidze during training, says the figure skater herself. Because, according to her, the athlete himself needs all this, coaches can only help him:
— Basically, you motivate yourself because you understand why you are working, that you need it, not the coaches. Coaches will guide you and help you achieve your goal. And how Eteri Georgievna motivates – you can feel it in her look, she will make comments, and immediately motivation will appear to correct her and somehow please her. Eteri Georgievna can praise, but rarely, ”admits Alisa Dvoeglazova.
As an ironclad argument in favor of a strict attitude during training, the figure skater cites a well-known quote by Tutberidze. On the fact that discipline ultimately determines the outcome.
Most tournaments where Dvoeglazova and Bazylyuk meet on the ice are a battle only between them. As in a group, these two skaters compete against each other. Alice speaks of her rival with great respect:
— I really respect Margarita as an athlete and competitor. She is awesome. I don’t look at other people’s performances before my own. “I just fight against myself to give my best, to do what I have to do,” says Dvoeglazova.
Answering a direct question about the possibility of a quadruple axel performed by girls, Alisa names only one surname: “Maybe Margarita Bazylyuk.”
Dvoyeglazova’s free time on the ice is devoted to creativity. The figure skater has many different activities after training:
— I really like doing different creative things. The girls gave me a diamond mosaic with a fox. I tried embroidery, it didn’t work for me, I wove beads, made figurines, assembled Lego, there are also little houses that need to be assembled.
But for now, after the season, Alice’s main concern is her studies. Soon she will pass the OGE and take courses in biology and social studies. After that we move on to tenth grade.
The new shining star of the group, Eteri Tutberidze, is still a schoolgirl.
