The CBF confirms that Vinicius Junior will captain Brazil in the friendly match against Spain

The game will have actions to fight racism, through the “One skin, one identity” campaign

Spain and Brazil will face each other this Tuesday (26th), at 5.30pm (Brasilia time), in Santiago Bermabéu, home of Real Madrid, in a friendly Fifa Date. The Canary Islands team will have something new. According to the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF), coach Dorival Júnior has decided that Vinicius Junior will captain Amarelinha in the clash.

The duel will mark the fight against racism, through the “One skin, one identity” campaign. Vinicius Junior, a Real Madrid player, has faced constant racist attacks from rival fans in the European country.

Last Monday, in fact, Vinicius Junior got emotional and cried a lot in the press conference commenting on the racist attacks he was suffering in Spanish football.

The last time that Spain and Brazil faced each other was in 2013. On that occasion, the Brazilian team overcame La Roja, winning with a score of 3-0, goals from Fred (a brace) and Neymar, at the Maracanã, in Confederations Cup final.

In total, Spain and Brazil have faced each other nine times in history. The Brazilian team has the advantage in the comparison, with five victories, against the two of La Roja. The duel ended in a draw on two occasions.

This will be coach Dorival Júnior’s second match at the helm of the Brazilian team. In the first, last Saturday (23rd), Brazil beat England 1-0, at Wembley, with the goal of the young Endrick.

Spain tries to reverse the bad impression left in the previous friendly. Last Friday (22), La Roja was defeated 1-0 by Colombia, scored by Daniel Muñoz, at the Olympic Stadium in London.
