Inter drew 1-1 against Juventude and were eliminated from the Campeonato Gaúcho on penalties by Juventude, in Beira-Rio. For the third consecutive year, Colorado did not reach the state final.
Inter were in a good phase at Gauchão, accumulating 10 consecutive victories in the season, until drawing in both matches against Juventude. In the penalty shootout, Robert Renan took a careless shot and it ended in a 6-5 defeat for Jaconero.
– We came from 10 games won, two draws and one defeat on penalties. It’s a pain we feel, the pain of not giving the fans the joy of reaching the final. They supported us the whole time and the atmosphere was so good that it accelerated the game. In the second half we did well, we equalised, we had opportunities to take the lead.
