Ukrainian footballer Malinovsky called Atalanta’s message about Miranchuk’s goal for the Russian national team a shame.
After the victory of the Russian national team over Serbia (4:0) in a friendly match, Atalanta published an article dedicated to the club’s Russian midfielder Alexei Miranchuk, who scored a goal.
Midfielder of the Ukrainian national team and Genoa, Miranchuk’s former partner at Atalanta Ruslan Malinovsky, wrote “shame” in Italian in the comments. Atalanta deleted the post with Miranchuk, but later the post reappeared in the feed.
Atalanta is sixth in the standings and 4 points outside the European competition zone. The Russia-Serbia match took place on March 21. All matches of the Russian national team after the introduction of sanctions are friendly. A match against Paraguay was scheduled to take place on March 25, but the match was canceled due to a terrorist attack at Crocus City Hall.
In the context of the North-Eastern Military District, relations between Ukraine and the Russian Federation have further deteriorated. Ukrainian athletes openly oppose the Russian Federation and do not shake hands after the competition. But there is evidence that behind the scenes they communicate normally with the Russians.
Previously, KP-Sport wrote about how the sports world was coping with the Crocus City Hall tragedy, what happened during ice dancing at the 2024 World Cup and the funeral of Vasily Utkin.
