Coach António Oliveira prepares the Juventus team for the continental tournament after the early elimination in the Campeonato Paulista
Corinthians have announced, this Saturday, the holding of a friendly match aimed at preparing the team for its debut in Serie A South American Cup. The opponent will be London and the match is scheduled for next Wednesday, March 27.
The location of the clash has also been defined. The two teams will face each other at the Arnaldo Busato Municipal Stadium, in Cascavel. The coach Antonio Oliveira intends to make changes and test tactical variations in view of the international tournament.
This move comes shortly after an early exit from the Campeonato Paulista, as Corinthians failed to advance from the group stage of the State Championship. In a state of alert, the coach races against time to make the team competitive.
Last Friday Santos and Corinthians were supposed to play a training match in Vila Belmiro, but the activity was cancelled. The Corinthian delegation was stuck on Via Anchieta due to a serious accident which blocked passage on the state road and made it impossible to descend from the mountain.
Corinthians’ next official match is scheduled for April 2nd, when they will face Uruguayan Racing in Montevideo, in group F of the South American Cup. Argentinos Juniors and Nacional, from Paraguay, complete the group.
