Shakhtar fined a footballer for liking an article about the Russian national team’s 4-0 victory over Serbia in a friendly match.

Midfielder Khusrav Toirov will lose his monthly salary, which amounts to around 700,000 rubles. The money will be used “to support the army”, reports Football 24.

In the context of the North-Eastern Military District, relations between Ukraine and Russia have completely deteriorated. And Ukraine has a painful reaction to everything related to Russia. It was the same before the SVO – for example, track and field athlete Maguchikh was harassed in Ukraine because of a photo in which she hugged Lasitskene at the award ceremony at the Olympics from Tokyo. But now the degree of inadequacy of the reaction has become completely out of reach.

Due to sanctions, Russian clubs were left without European Cups, and the national team played only friendly matches. Admission of Russians to individual sports is permitted with a neutral status and subject to a number of criteria. Ukrainians do not shake hands with Russians at tournaments and do not communicate. But there is evidence that behind the scenes, almost secretly, they are still communicating with the Russians.
