Valery Karpin also agreed with the president of the RFU, for whom the referee spoiled the entire analysis of the match.

— Would it be better not to take it off? Certainly. The outcome might have been worse, but we would have received more information. Unfortunately, we received almost no information about the outcome of this match. If we analyze the match, then only the first 20 minutes, when we played with the same strength. Many people liked it. It could have been better at the end of the first half. I liked the atmosphere and the desire after the break, the players heard my words, came out as if the score was 0:0 and followed the instructions,” Karpin said.

What will happen to Milan Gajic after being sent off early in the match?

Milan Gajic really let the Serbs down. He left, scored a penalty and forced his team to play in the minority for more than an hour. But Serbian head coach Dragan Stojkovic supported his player.

“I can say he was just unlucky.” He made a mistake that affected the outcome of the entire match. But it’s probably not his fault. Any player in his position would have reacted this way. I think a red card is a harsh and severe punishment, considering a penalty was awarded. I understood perfectly that after the red it would be difficult. For Serbia, the result is always important. And 4:0 is very difficult. But we were missing several key players like Vlahovic. So it was very difficult,” Zdelar told reporters.

“A number of European countries are exerting strong pressure on the Serbs”

Despite the importance of this match, a friendly match against the Serbs was essential, if only because of the atmosphere. Brotherly people, a strong team, the best composition of Russians – with such introductory results it is at least 4:0, at least 2:2.

RFU President Dyukov separately thanked the Serbian team that flew to Moscow. He also said that it was not that easy to do.

— I know that a number of European countries put a lot of pressure on the Serbs before the match. But they’re awesome. This is what real partnerships mean,” said Mr. Dyukov.

For the Serbs themselves, the match against the Russians was also important. Otherwise, Serbian Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic would not have been sitting in the stands next to Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.

Dyukov believes that Russia will not get lost in the euro. Karpin found a new player
