Despite so many goals, the striker was excluded from Dorival Júnior’s call-up to the Brazilian national team
Striker Evanilson is Porto’s top scorer this season, with 22 goals scored. A vote, in itself, already worthy of applause, but it is not the only result of which the attacker can be proud: the athlete is the Brazilian with the most goals in the seven main championships of the Old Continent (Germany, Spain, France, Netherlands, England, Italy and Portugal).
In the Portuguese championship alone, 11 goals were scored in 21 games (you can see some of these goals in the video at the top of the page). Although Porto is eliminated from the Champions League, the goals scored by the Brazilian in the continental competition are also attracting attention: four, just two less than Griezmann, Mbappé, Haaland and Harry Kane, the top scorers of the tournament.
Despite his fame at Porto, Evanilson was not in Dorival Júnior’s list for the Brazilian team’s friendlies against Spain and England. For comparison, Galeno and Pepê, his Porto teammates called up to defend Brazil, scored 18 goals.
