Matytsin: we want to discuss the inclusion of Belarusian teams in Russian professional leagues
Belarusian teams can receive an invitation to Russian leagues. This was stated by the Minister of Sports of the Russian Federation, Oleg Matytsin.
According to him, this issue will be discussed in the near future, but first we need to find out which Belarusian teams are ready to play in Russia.
“Some experience has already been accumulated, I think we will solve the problem with regulatory support. It is necessary to determine which clubs are interested in starting negotiations with the leaders of the professional leagues of the Russian Federation,” reports the RIA Novosti agency, according to Matytsin’s words.
Belarusian teams are already performing in Russia. For example, Dynamo Minsk is a member of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL). Additionally, the Minsk basketball club plays in the VTB United League.
