“Let’s stop this violence, these provocations and demonstrations of support for organizations like the PKK, which are classified as terrorists,” said Belgian Prime Minister Alexandre de Croo.

Speaking at a press conference at the end of the National Security Council meeting in Brussels this Wednesday, Alexandre de Croix spoke about the recent attacks against Turks in various regions of Belgium by supporters of the terrorist organization PKK.

Recalling Belgium’s commitment to freedom of thought and expression, he condemned “sympathy and propaganda for a terrorist organization such as the PKK”.

Alexander de Croo noted that the PKK is recognized as a terrorist organization in Europe.

“We want to send a clear message: provocations must stop,” he insisted.

A group of 150 supporters of the terrorist organization PKK/YPG attacked police on Monday by dismantling barricades in front of the European Parliament in Brussels.

The goal of these people was to go first to the street where the Turkish Embassy is located in Brussels, and then to the Schuman Square, where the European Union institutions are located. They faced the police barriers.

PKK supporters continued to commit violent acts in the country. They also caused disturbances in the village of Cherat in Liège, where the majority of the population is Turkish. The group set fire to the building of Ulku Ocakları, attacked the mosque and broke its windows.

The members of the group covered their faces and chanted slogans supporting the terrorist organization. They damaged houses, shops and cars of Turkish citizens.

According to eyewitnesses, the police did not intervene in the incidents.
