The Minister of Finance, Fernando Haddad, declared that he does not agree with the provisions of the Proposal for Amendment to the Constitution (PEC) which gives financial autonomy to the Central Bank, defended by the president of the authority, Roberto Campos Neto.
In an interview with CNN Brasil recorded Tuesday and broadcast Wednesday, Haddad said Campos Neto would have a preliminary talk with Lula about the PEC, which did not happen.
He recalled that his task is to bring the president of the BC closer to the government and Lula, underlining that the PEC will be better analyzed by parliamentarians.
