BrasilAgro sells part of an agricultural company in Bahia for R$364.5 million

BrasilAgro, specializing in the purchase and sale of rural properties and the production of food, fiber and bioenergy, announced on Tuesday the sale of a total area of ​​12.3 thousand hectares of its Chaparral farm in Correntina, Bahia, for 364.5 million reais .

According to company data, the useful hectares are 8,796, each equivalent to 350 bags of soybeans or approximately 41.4 thousand reais.

“The buyer has already made an initial payment of 53.5 million,” the company specifies, adding that the average time to obtain the sale is 3.1 years.

“From an accounting point of view, the value of this area of ​​the Farm in the company books is 34.0 million reais (acquisition + investments net of depreciation) and has an expected IRR (Internal Rate of Return) in reais of 15.0%,” it said in a statement.

Chaparral Farm was acquired by BrasilAgro in November 2007, with a total area of ​​approximately 37.2 thousand hectares and 26.4 thousand useful hectares. After the negotiation, according to BrasilAgro, 24,847 hectares remain in the portfolio, of which 17,648 are profitable.
