Treasury Minister Rogério Ceron said on Tuesday that the result of the February primaries was influenced by atypical data, as the government brought forward the payment of court orders to last month.
In a press conference to explain the National Treasury result in February, Ceron said that, generally, precatório payments are made in May or June, so the anticipation for February distorted the basis of comparison.
The Treasury reported this Tuesday that the central government recorded a primary deficit of 58.444 billion reais in February, the worst month’s balance in the historical series that began in 1997.
