The Governor of Rio Grande do Sul participated in the closing panel of an event in Porto Alegre that brought together startups and investors to promote business
PORTO ALEGRE – The governor of Rio Grande do Sul, Eduardo Leite (PSDB), said on Friday the 22nd that it is possible to create capitalism without “destroying anyone”, in a “competition with cooperation”. He participated in the closing panel of the South Summit Brazil event, which takes place in Porto Alegre.
“It is possible, in capitalism, where people try with their sweat to obtain income and profit, to do it without destroying anyone, without overwhelming others. Cooperate,” Leite said.
The event brought together startups and investors throughout the week in Cais Mauá, in the capital of Rio Grande do Sul, to promote business.
Leite also spoke about the storm that hit Porto Alegre in the early hours of Thursday and which delayed the start of the event by about an hour and a half.
“This edition has been put to the test,” he said, adding that the structure of the Molo warehouses – which will have to be renovated once the event begins there – remained “firm and resistant”.
Sebastião Melo, mayor of Porto Alegre, lamented the climatic events that have affected not only the city but the entire state. “Yesterday (fifth) It was one example among many that happened in Rio Grande do Sul, including human losses,” he said.
