Nestlé’s traditional banana chocolate, Caribe, may divide opinions among chocolate lovers, but there is no doubt about its success. This year, the “Ovo Caribe” was one of the brand’s main launches for Easter and, this Thursday the 21st, it was declared “officially sold out”. On the Internet you can find chocolate resold for R$449.
The chocolate egg arrived at retailers in February, with a suggested value of R$39.99. To the ExaminationMarcos Freitas, seasonal and box marketing manager at Nestlé Brazil, explained that Caribbean has been in the company’s portfolio for years and has won loyal fans, who wanted an exclusive egg of this flavor.
Despite its success, the Ovo Caribe will no longer be produced this year. “We will not return to production, as our efforts are already focused on closing the period in 2024 and we are already studying scenarios for Easter 2025,” the company informed the vehicle.

For those who were unable to find the Ovo Caribe before the item was sold out in major Brazilian markets, there is still the option of searching for the exclusive item on the Internet.
When you search for chocolate on Mercado Livre, for example, you can find an ad selling chocolate for R$ 199. In this case, highlighted by the platform as “best seller”, there are 11 units available.
In another, bolder advertisement, the item sells for R$449, with only one other unit available.
