The Brazilians complete the second day of the Pre-Olympic Shotgun

In the early hours of this Monday (22nd), the second day of competition for the Olympic pit took place at the Shotgun Pre-Olympic in Doha, Qatar. Brazil has four athletes competing, which takes place over three days. After two more rounds, Emilson Menarim and Camilla Cosmoski are the best Brazilians in the competition.

The competition

On the second day of the men’s competition, Brazil had three competitors. Emilson Menarim was the best classified among the three athletes. He played two almost perfect rounds, hitting 49 out of 50 dishes (25-24). Then came Hussein Daruic, with 46 targets hit (22-24). In the end, Leonardo Lustoza hit 45 pots (20-25).

The general classification is the sum of five races, two of which were held in this one Sunday (21st). Thus, Emilson Menarim leads Brazil in 89th place overall, with 91 points. Hussein Daruic is the second best Brazilian with 90 points, in 106th place. While Leonardo Lustoza is in 115th place with 88 points. In total 140 competitors took part in the race, with the Italians Mauro De Filippis and Massimo Fabbrizi leading the standings (99 points).


In the women’s competition, the only representative from Brazil is Camilla Cosmoski. She opened the competition by hitting 18 of 25 targets in the third round of the Olympic pit. In the second round, Camilla hit another 22 pots, closing the day with 40 points, remaining in 60th place with 83 total points. Who is in first place for now is Mariya Dmitriyenko, from Kazakhstan, who hit all 97 targets, but she is tied on points with the Slovak Zuzana Rehak and the Australian Penny Smith.

This Tuesday (22), the four Brazilians return to action for the fifth round of the Olympic competition at the Doha Pre-Olympic Shotgun. Additionally, the event guarantees places for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
