Chelsea owner asks for patience in the face of terrible results: “Let the project go on its way”

Todd Boehly asked fans to be patient in an interview with Forbes

Todd Boehly, American businessman and owner of Chelsea, in an interview with Forbes, asked fans to be patient after the terrible results obtained by the club in recent times. The fans are dissatisfied and want a short-term response to the Blues’ sporting crisis, the owner could leave his position in 2027.

Chelsea are in 12th place in the English championship and have 40 points, just 18 ahead Luton City, in the relegation zone. An anomalous situation for the Blues’ recent investments, which is why the club’s owner had to leave to calm things down and ask for patience.

– We just need to let the process develop and give them time to go from being incredible individual players with great skills to integrating into a team. The good news is that people are very engaged, and the bad news is that people care too much. This leads to times when they are frustrated with the team and the owners. I understand that, but we just need to stay on the right path – Todd said in an interview with Forbes.

Todd has owned the club since May 2022, when Roman Abramovich had to sell Chelsea and get rid of the club due to sanctions imposed by the British government against people linked to the Russian president, Vladimir Putin, over the war in Ukraine. The club’s current owner has come under criticism from fans for his sporting failures and is expected to leave his position in the 2026-27 season.
