Ingredients:

Caramel:

  • 1 cup (tea) brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup (tea) sugar
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1 cup (tea) water

Syrup:

  • 1 cup milk (tea)
  • 2 tablespoons of sugar

Pasta:

  • 6 small bananas
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 cup of oil (tea).
  • 2 cups sugar (tea)
  • 1 cup (tea) breadcrumbs
  • 1 cup (tea) wheat flour
  • 4 teaspoons of ground cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon of chemical yeast
  • Margarine for greasing

Preparation method:

  1. For the caramel, in a skillet, heat the brown sugar, sugar and butter over medium heat until melted.
  2. Carefully pour in the water and let it boil until it forms a caramel.
  3. Use half the caramel to line the bottom of a 24cm diameter cake tin.
  4. Grease the side with margarine.
  5. Mix the syrup ingredients and set aside.
  6. Cut two bananas lengthwise and cover the bottom of the pan with caramel.
  7. In a blender, beat the rest of the bananas, eggs, oil and sugar.
  8. Pour into a bowl and mix the breadcrumbs, wheat flour, half the cinnamon and baking powder, stirring with a spoon.
  9. Transfer this dough to the prepared pan and bake in a preheated medium oven for 30 minutes or until cooked through.
  10. Remove from the oven and pour over the milk syrup.
  11. Leave to cool before turning out and serving sprinkled with the remaining caramel.
